Conservation grazing uses native animals who use their natural instincts and knowledge handed down by generations of their species to carefully manage and maintain the landscape in healthier and cleaner ways than our modern fossil-fuel-powered machines. Instead of loudly belching out nasty air pollutants and noise pollution, they quietly graze with chewing actions that stimulate better root growth, which in turn helps to sequester more carbon in the soil. These animals can help boost biodiversity by clearing undergrowth for smaller animals, suppressing invasive plants, and even digging small watering holes that can boost amphibian and reptile populations.

Prairie Garden Grants Program "Gardening and other conservation groups, parks, schools, and other entities in Missouri and immediately surrounding states are invited to submit proposals to MPF’s Prairie Garden Grants Program. In 2024, MPF would like to award several grants to help fund the establishment or improvement of prairie gardens or plantings. Grants will not exceed $800 each. Those with smaller projects are encouraged to apply as well. Matching funds are not required, but proposals with secured matching funds may be evaluated higher than others."
