In this type of hybrid systems, farmers can produce energy from sunlight in their fields on or rooftops, while also producing crops directly beneath. The cooling factor of the plants helps the solar panels work more efficiently than panels on their own, and the panels provide shelter from weather extremes, providing the added benefit of reducing the crops' water needs.

Farmers find a way to turn a profit off milkweed, for the sake of the monarchs "The milkweed makeover began when researchers in Quebec transformed the plant’s silky fibers into a high-end insulation material for winter clothing and advanced other commercial uses for it, like sound insulation and absorption for oil spills. Winter coats stuffed with milkweed fiber reached outdoor retailers in 2016, fetching $800 or more apiece. The Canadian Coast Guard tried milkweed garb and liked it. And as a side benefit, the distinctive honey from milkweed fields is prized."
Farmers for Monarchs "There is a wealth of information out there to help you make your decisions, including several one-page documents created by Farmers for Monarchs outlining several topics for farmers interested in pollinator habitat and conservation. We have also created a shareable postcard about Farmers for Monarchs."

Good Food Institute "is a nonprofit think tank and international network of organizations working to accelerate alternative protein innovation.
Globally, meat consumption is the highest it has ever been. According to the FAO, global meat production is projected to increase by as much as 50 percent by 2050.
With plant-based meat, cultivated meat, and fermentation, we can mitigate the environmental impact of our food system, decrease the risk of zoonotic disease, and ultimately feed more people with fewer resources.
By making meat from plants and cultivating meat from cells, we can modernize meat production. "
Agridee Vending Machines "Landwirtschaftskammer Niedersachsen (Chamber of Agriculture Lower-Saxony, Germany) is implementing vending machines for agricultural fresh food products. This type of vending machines can be accessed 24 hours a day and do not need special maintenance by workers. Further, agricultural activities are not interrupted by customers at the production site. AGRiDEE is a supplier for locker style fresh food vending machines. This style of vending machine, refrigerated and non-refrigerated, can enable egg, fruits, vegetables and all fresh food farmers and producers to develop farm gate sales free from the fear of theft. The vending machines, with 92 to 192 compartments, are easy to install everywhere. A single cash register system is always needed as a basis for all AGRiDEE vending machines. Consumers can pay with cash or with different credit cards. With this type of vending machines, farmers have a new way to sell fresh food products direct to the public without having to deal with customers and, as the vending machines eliminate middlemen, the farmer nets more profit. AGRiDEE offers a large variety of vending machines for different types of fresh food products."
The Vegan Land Movement CIC (VLM) "is a collective of like-minded vegans who work together as a holistic movement to provide solutions that will effect a change in cruel exploitative farming practices, conservation and land use, based on vegan principles."
The Farmland Information Center (FIC) "is a clearinghouse for information about farmland protection that serves people working to save farmland and ranchland for agriculture. It is a project of American Farmland Trust (AFT) maintained on behalf of and with support from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The FIC is authorized by the federal Farmland Protection Policy Act (FPPA), the first federal law to address the loss of productive agricultural land to non-farm development. AFT and NRCS have worked together since 1994 to fulfill this requirement."
Miyoko's: Dairy Farm Transition (DFT) Program "We created the Dairy Farm Transition (DFT) program to offer new opportunities to dairy farmers who want to explore alternatives to their current operations. The DFT program provides resources and support to farmers as they shift to plant-based production, growing specialty crops that we will purchase to contribute to our supply chain and research and development efforts. With the partnership, we offer a guaranteed income for the farmer while they transition, grant funding for the transition process, educational resources, technical assistance, and a secured market. Our goal is to decrease the barriers to farm-level innovation by paving an independent path forward for the farm in the emerging plant-based industry."
Rancher Advocacy Program (RAP) "a program that inspires farmers and ranchers to consider alternatives to animal agriculture, and provides them a hub of resources to do so if they choose."
The Transfarmation Project "Our mission is to build collective power sufficient to realize a just and sustainable food system. Transfarmation does this by helping farmers transition from industrial animal agriculture operations to raising crops for human consumption. By creating models of alternative economic opportunities, building solidarity with other movements, and shifting societal narratives to change culture, we will realize a just and sustainable food system."

The Pollination Project (TPP) "is a vegan foundation that offers seed funding to grassroots activists working to build a kinder, more compassionate world for human & non-human animals.
TPP focuses on early stage ideas and funds individuals directly. Over the years, they’ve seen the power of bottom-up, community-led grassroots activism. Through “pollination philanthropy”– a democratic model of peer-to-peer decision-making — TPP works with a global network of grantees, community partners, and volunteer advisors to identify extraordinary project leaders who, due to the grassroots nature of their work, are often not in a position to receive funding from other foundations or institutions.
They make micro grants 365 days a year to grassroots global change agents and have a growing global community of 4,500 grassroots leaders in 150 countries. They support vegan outreach projects around the world, and have a special program for farmed animal activists in Brazil, India and Mexico. Their goal is to offer not just seed funding, but capacity-building support and connectivity with other activists working in the same geographic or issue area."
