Dung beetles are an important part of Nature's clean up crew, but due to overuse of pesticides, de-wormers used in livestock and pets, their numbers have drastically fallen.
There isn't a lot of research on dung beetles, including little research on the specific factors threatening them. However, based on what we were able to find, pesticides and drugs such as dewormers for livestock as well as habitat destruction are probably among the top threats.
