Streams are one of many types of waterways. They are smaller than rivers, and usually bigger than creeks, though this can vary by weather event and other factors.
Just like other types of waterway, streams have riparian zones where different types of plants grow, based on how much water they can general access.
There are only around 200 of these in the world.

Bare in mind that these are British chalk streams, so the appropriate plants may be different if you are trying to revive calk waterways in other countries.
